Peters Engineering has been involved with multiple fire station facilities including new and remodel construction to serve a number of local communities. Fire stations provide a unique challenge because on one hand, they serve as a “home away from home” so a comfortable domestic feel is important; but on the other hand, and equally important, is the need for a station to be a fully functional, fully equipped, and a fully automatic emergency response facility. Primary objectives have been to provide mechanical systems that are automatic, energy efficient and easy to use, so that emergency response is optimized, while preserving the “residential” appearance of the station to blend with the surrounding new or existing neighborhoods.
